Meet Ralph
Since retiring in 2001, Ralph works primarily from his home and studio in Dagsboro, Delaware. The whimsical beach houses depicted in his paintings have come out of his love for the Delaware seashore, where he has been frequenting for the past 45 years. Ralph and his wife Isadora live on the Indian River, where the close proximity to the beaches give him endless inspiration. His style is “whimsical” to say the least, drawing his beach houses from his colorful imagination. The only things that are real in his paintings are the landmarks, which he adorns on the various towels that drape the railings. Most every beach house painting has some sort of reference to crabs, one of his all time favorite foods. His nostalgic, “folksy” style and bright acrylic colors help to recreate the happy, summertime fun memories people have visiting the beach. A wonderful conversation piece for any wall in your home is one of Ralph’s beach houses.
